In Profectus you build a civilization from raw materials scattered across a vast landscape. Progress unfolds over thousands of years as you gather resources craft tools and manage a growing population. The gameplay loops around survival needs like food shelter and energy while balancing long term goals like advancing technology and expanding territory. You direct workers assign tasks and upgrade facilities to push through historical eras from primitive settlements to futuristic cities. The most striking feature is the physical carrying system. Every item must be manually transported between locations creating a tactile connection between player and world. This mechanic shapes every decision from where to place storage units to how many workers to assign to each task. With 128 different building types and dynamic weather events the game offers deep strategic layers. Players can tackle challenges solo or collaborate in shared worlds though competitive play modes are not supported.
