Project Aphotic is a narrative-driven mystery where you play Lucien, a man waking from a coma with no memories. Guided by Hugh, a younger man who insists you’re a research assistant on a remote island lab, you piece together why you’re there and what caused your amnesia. Choices about trust and secrecy influence how you connect with Hugh and uncover hidden truths about your past. The story shifts based on your decisions, leading to varied outcomes and relationships. The game leans into eerie island isolation and slow-burn tension as you navigate Lab Azura’s restricted areas and question the motives of other characters like Ceto, who seems to know more than they admit. With branching paths and 20+ endings, player decisions directly impact how Lucien’s story resolves. Set for PC release in late 2024, it’s a compact but dense mystery where every line of dialogue and location visit matters.

Storyline

Lucien awakens from a coma, his mind a blank slate. Guided by a young man named Hugh, he learns he's a research assistant at Lab Azura, a private facility on a secluded island. Despite the memory loss, Lucien senses a unique connection to Hugh. Living on the island, Ceto, a volunteer in research, seems to harbor secrets about Lucien's mysterious 'coma event.'
