Project BBQ started as a 3D action MMORPG set in the Dungeon Fighter universe before shifting gears completely. Players control characters in a hack and slash style that lets them team up for co-op play or tackle the world alone. The story takes a different path from the main Dungeon Fighter Online line, changing major plot points and character outcomes along the way. Action Studio developed this title to explore a fresh take on the familiar setting before the project evolved into something else entirely. The most notable outcome is how the team repurposed much of this work into Arad Chronicle: Kazan, a souls-like console game known as Project AK. Some assets likely fed into another D&F project called Project Overkill too. This game never reached its original MMO potential on PC, but it left a mark by testing new ideas for the franchise. Fans of deep combat mechanics and dark fantasy settings will find value in what became of this early development effort. It remains a key piece of the studio's history regarding how they built Arad Chronicle.
