Project D puts you in Rakuen, a future society built on ideas from thinkers like Rutger Bregman and Yuval Noah Harari. You navigate daily life in this near-future setting where the challenges feel disturbingly familiar to our current reality. Hiroco Shiino led the vision for this narrative experience while Akira Mitsuhashi handled the technical side as they collaborated on various scenarios. The gameplay focuses on observing how people live and interact within this specific social framework rather than offering traditional action mechanics. The world feels grounded because it avoids fantasy tropes in favor of plausible societal shifts. You spend your time making choices that reflect real human behaviors instead of following a rigid quest line. There are no flashy graphics or complex combat systems to distract you from the core themes. The developers wanted to present problems we already face today but framed within a slightly different timeline. This approach creates a quiet atmosphere where you can really think about what makes up modern humanity without any loud explosions or dramatic twists.
