Puzzle Swap challenges players to collect fragments to rebuild 3D animations of Nintendo games. Using StreetPass, you trade pieces with others who have gaps in your collection. You can also spend in-game currency on random pieces though duplicates are common. Each completed puzzle unlocks a short animated sequence. The goal is to gather every part needed to see the full picture. The December 2011 update added special pink pieces that only come from StreetPass interactions and can't be bought. Some puzzles require more pieces than others increasing the time and effort needed to finish them. Players on 3DS systems met and traded to fill gaps creating a loose community around the game. Released in 2011 it remains a quiet example of Nintendo’s early 3DS social experiments.
