About

Quarantine Diary is a point-and-click adventure following Carol Reed as she untangles a missing persons case during a pandemic. You navigate a mouse-driven interface to explore a story centered on Alvin, a skateboarding teen who vanishes after sneaking out to ride. His mother’s strict quarantine rules and growing panic form the backbone of the mystery. The game leans into dialogue and environmental puzzles to advance the plot, with no combat or action sequences. Set in a realistic, tension-filled world where social restrictions shape every interaction, it balances family drama with procedural investigation. The game stands out for its tight narrative focus and relatable stakes. It uses the pandemic as both a setting and a obstacle, forcing characters to navigate isolation and fear. With a runtime of about three to four hours, it’s a concise but layered entry in the Carol Reed series. Players appreciate its mature themes handled without graphic content, making it accessible to older teens. The story’s emotional core, balancing a son’s independence with a parent’s anxiety, resonates despite the supernatural elements usually found in the genre.

Storyline

Alvin is a 16-year-old loner with a passion for skateboarding. He lives with his mother, who is a stickler for COVID-19 safety procedures. In order to pursue his favorite pastime, Alvin sneaks out at dawn, while his mother works nights. However, when he doesn't come home one day, his mother finds herself with a lot more than the coronavirus to worry about. Carol is called on to solve this mystery amidst the height of the pandemic, with all the limitations and challenges it entails.
