QuizMania is a collection of six word-based minigames presented as a TV channel lineup. Each game is hosted by Raul Cremona who shifts between personas for every segment. Players solve quizzes, riddles, anagrams, rebuses, letter labyrinths, and odd-one-out puzzles. The interface mimics a TV menu with occasional pop-ups from a pirate broadcast. Input is limited to pointing and clicking with minimal on-screen guidance. No multiplayer features exist beyond a single-player puzzle-solving experience. The game stands out for its quirky character performances and varied challenge types. Cremona’s energetic delivery adds charm to straightforward wordplay. While the Philips CD-i platform limited graphical polish, the focus remains on mental workouts over visuals. Community interest is niche but exists among retro puzzle fans. Released late in the CD-i’s lifespan, it serves as a time capsule of 90s interactive trivia design.
