Raanaa: The Shaman Girl is a 3D platformer with adventure and puzzle elements. You play as a shaman girl who navigates spirit realms using supernatural abilities and a dress that manipulates gravity. The game splits its story into episodic chapters where each one drops you into a new environment filled with obstacles and enemies. Combat mixes quick reflexes with problem solving as you interact with mythic deities and spirits. The first episode focuses on rescuing a goddess trapped in a decaying world where colors fade and life withers. The game leans into folklore from Saami and Norse traditions without heavy-handed exposition. Its art style blends vibrant colors with stark contrasts to highlight the conflict between life and decay. While the single player campaign is the main hook, local co-op lets another player join for select sections. Released in 2019 it still holds a 4.5/5 average on mobile review sites. The episodic structure keeps content fresh but some players note pacing issues in later levels.
Episode 1 - Raanaa and The Foremother Goddess. Máttaráhkká, The Foremother Goddess who gives souls to unborn babies, has been imprisoned by Rohttu, the God of Pestilence. She is kept inside a floating mountain, located in a miraculous Sáivu World. Rohttu's presence has already started to affect the colorful Sáivu. The colors are fading fast. Máttaráhkká and Sáivu World need Raanaa's help!
