Raid on Tri City: Second Wave blends puzzle strategy and shooting mechanics on the Atari Lynx. You steer a spaceship across a playfield where Tetris-like blocks fall and stack. Your goal is to shoot bricks to clear lines and keep the pile from hitting the top. Blocks can’t be moved or rotated, only shot brick by brick. Precision matters: destroy blocks to fill gaps and create lines for points. Power-ups hide inside some bricks, while enemies add pressure by restricting movement. Every shot counts as the stack rises. The physical release adds a story mode with set objectives and a narrative about saving a space station from aliens. Levels branch based on choices, mixing replayability with puzzle-solving. The screen splits between the playfield, ship controls, and a HUD tracking time, lines, or power-ups. Released August 2021, it includes high-score saving via EEPROM. This expanded version offers more depth than the original download, merging arcade high-score chasing with structured story goals.
