Raining Blood: Hellfire is a chaotic shooter where you battle endless waves of demons in a cathedral teetering on collapse. As Azaus, a weary exorcist, you fight through procedurally generated rooms, picking up weapons and upgrades between deaths. The action is fast and punishing, with enemies swarming in increasingly absurd numbers. Each run ends in failure, but your progress unlocks new tools to survive just a little longer. The game leans heavily into its CoD Zombies-style chaos, with a focus on relentless combat and escalating stakes. Developer Luiz Aquino crafts a mythos around Azaus’ thousand-year vigil, though the July 2025 release means no community data exists yet. What’s clear is the emphasis on brutal, bullet-hell action and a loop designed to keep you coming back for one more try, even as the difficulty spikes and the cathedral crumbles around you.
You play as Azaus, The Untiring, the last of the Holy Exorcists, ancient creatures that protect humankind against the demons. However, for a thousand years there has been peace. The world has forgotten the evils that lurk below and has grown complacent. Azaus has not. Azaus remembers. He knows that Hell never sleeps and the longer the silence, the stronger the storm. His quest has driven him to The Old Cathedral, where he will face unimaginable terrors.
