"Overall, the ridiculously gory fights and simple level system feel fun and rewarding. Even still, progress is sometimes unnecessarily halted by the random nature of finding key items. In spite of missing a beat or two when adding tedium to the experience, Runic Rampage succeeds at providing an old school arcade experience in the present day."

Rampage 2: Universal Tour turns city destruction into a team sport. Control one of three original monsters or unlock new ones like Boris the rhino and Curtis the mouse to smash buildings, devour pedestrians, and wreck vehicles. Single-player or split-screen modes let you work with others to cause chaos, with points awarded for damage and efficiency. The goal shifts from mindless mayhem to planetary defense when aliens invade, forcing you to protect Earth before launching a space campaign to dismantle alien strongholds across the solar system. What sticks out is the seamless transition from urban warfare to interstellar combat. The split-screen multiplayer keeps matches lively, and the roster of quirky creatures adds variety. Released in 1999 for N64 and PlayStation, it blends fast-paced action with escalating stakes. While the original formula stays intact, the alien invasion twist and space levels add new layers to the rampage.
George, Lizzie, and Ralph have been captured and confined for the world to see. George is held captive in New York City, Lizzie is imprisoned in Tokyo, and Ralph is stored in London (references to King Kong, Godzilla, and Werewolf of London (or An American Werewolf in London, respectively). However, Scumlabs, who has just rebuilt their facilities in Salt Lake City, causes another accident that results in three new monsters: Boris, a rhinoceros, Curtis, a mouse, and Ruby, a lobster.
