Rara Magic is a mobile RPG where you guide Tuner as he uncovers a curse disrupting a school's music club. Battle monsters and rebuild relationships with animated heroines using action-based combat and dialogue choices. Each character has distinct personalities and story arcs, with interactions happening on a customizable home screen. Play through episodic acts that reveal the club's mysteries while strengthening bonds through gifts and AR camera photos. The game uses Live2D technology for smooth expressive animations and features voice work from well-known talent. Its mix of combat and relationship-building drew over 2 million downloads in under 18 months. Though the service ended in 2020 the blend of music-themed storytelling and interactive mechanics left a mark on mobile RPG fans.

Storyline

The main character, Tuner, who aspires to be a tuner, was captivated by the "magic sound" at a regular concert of the instrumental music club of Higashikanade Academy, and entered Higashikanade Academy with the desire to support the instrumental music club. However, according to the head of the club, Momoka Kusanagi, the current instrumental music club is in danger of being discontinued, as all the members have turned their minds away from music. The next day, the tuner visits the instrumental music club room and falls in love with the performance of Nanami Yuki, a girl who plays the flute alone, but Nanami interrupts her performance and leaves the club room as if to escape. Guided by a mysterious voice, Tuner enters the music preparation room, where he meets Honya, a cat who calls herself the " spirit of music," and obtains the Nothung, a sacred instrument with the power to break the "curse" that is keeping the instrumental music club members' minds away from music. In order to recover the "magic sound," Tuner sets off on an adventure with Honya to tune the girls' hearts.
