About

Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge is a side-scrolling action game where the titular character teams up with his buddy Globox to thwart a gang of mischievous Hoodlums. Set in a colorful but chaotic world, players navigate 2D levels filled with obstacles, enemies, and environmental hazards. The game leans into fast-paced platforming with light combat elements, letting Rayman and Globox punch, kick, and use environment-specific moves to clear paths. The story follows Rayman’s quest to rescue Globox after the Hoodlums kidnap him for revenge, escalating into a larger plot involving cloning and sabotage. The game’s biggest draw is making Globox a playable character for the first time in the series, offering a new dynamic for fans of the Rayman 3 story. Its isometric visuals and tight controls feel dated by today’s standards but hold up as a competent handheld port of the PS2 original. With 120 levels split into six themed worlds, it offers solid replay value for completionists. Released in 2005, it remains a niche entry in the Rayman catalog, praised for its faithfulness to the source material but overlooked in favor of bigger-budget entries.

Storyline

After Rayman defeated the Hoodlums' leader, Andre, the Hoodlums decide do get revenge (hence the title), so they kidnap Rayman's best friend Globox. Rayman rescues Globox part-way through the game, and as the two of them find out more about the Hoodlums trying to clone Reflux, they decide to stop them for good this time.
