Re-Loaded is a chaotic sequel that mixes fast-paced shooting with puzzle-solving across 12 bizarre worlds. You play as a roster of grotesque characters tasked with stopping a megalomaniacal villain who’s turned a desert planet into his canvas. Each mission forces you to blast through hordes of enemies using everything from plasma cannons to explosive traps while navigating shifting environments. The gameplay leans heavily into over-the-top violence with no shortage of gore, all wrapped in a clunky but colorful 90s aesthetic. The game’s biggest hook is its unhinged storyline involving a deranged artist-villain who manipulates matter to reshape planets. Players return to a universe where brutality is the main currency, and the missions often prioritize spectacle over sense. While the DOS-era mechanics feel dated by modern standards, retro fans appreciate the wild creativity and sheer absurdity. With a Metacritic score of 47/100, it’s a product of its time but still offers a weirdly satisfying blend of action and dark humor for those into niche 90s shooters.
F.U.B., the antagonist of Loaded, had his body destroyed at the end of the previous game, although his brain fled in an escape pod. Landing on a harsh desert world, Kee-Butt-5, his brain has been implanted into the body of a chiselled, bronzed young artist hermit named Manuel Auto, and then he murdered the loyal surgeons responsible for giving him a new body. Reincarnated and renamed "C.H.E.B.", which stands for "Charming Handsome Erudite Bastard", the former raving lunatic supervillain has taken on some of the aspects of his host body, the creative, artistic and thoughtful Manuel Auto. With his matter manipulation powers, C.H.E.B. plans to transform whole planets into "Works Of Art and Genius", starting with his own body which he grows to the size of a small moon. Once again the group of blood-thirsty anti-heroes gather to bring him down once and for all and set off for Kee-Butt-5...
