"If you're interested in a three-hour narrative adventure in the vein of Gone Home and Tacoma, and you can justify the current price, then there's a memorable-enough time to be had with Open Roads. There's not a wasted detail in the game's storytelling and there's a lot to appreciate in the subtle and skilful way it leads you through its tale. We enjoyed the little moments of character growth that came from Opal and Tess throughout. By the end, we felt as if we knew them. The game's ending also, genuinely, surprised us, which is an impressive feat. There's a heartfelt originality to Open Roads. But, yes, the gameplay is also limited. The 'pick up an object, have a conversation' repetition only has a temporary appeal. Whether the game is for you or not depends entirely on how you feel about the genre as a whole."

About

Re Volt OpenGL is a high octane R C car racing game that blends chaotic speed with precise control. Players customize their machines and tracks using a library of user made content including skins textures and entirely new circuits. The physics feel responsive and grounded letting you drift through tight corners or rocket down straightaways. Local and online multiplayer lets you race head to head while solo modes offer endless track building and tuning options. The game runs smoothly on Windows Linux Mac and Android making it easy to jump into a quick match anytime. The community keeps things fresh with weekly online events and a dedicated mod scene that’s added thousands of new assets since 2022s launch. It’s built on a 1999 classic but updated with sharper visuals and modern controls. The split screen mode for up to four players is a standout feature for couch co op chaos. With 92 percent of reviews calling it "still a blast" it’s clear this toy box of speed has aged well. The chaotic toy car rebellion story is silly but charming enough to frame the racing without getting in the way.
