Rebots is a simulation game where you manage a chaotic alien colony in the Asteroid Field. As a lone employee of a struggling automation company, you fix up a damaged spaceport, terraform asteroids, and meet resource goals using a clutter of clunky robots and improvised tools. Each level involves balancing quirky alien demands with your limited budget, from clearing debris to building factories. The controls lean into intuitive drag-and-drop mechanics, but the real challenge comes from juggling unpredictable neighbors and supply chain snafus. The game shines in its dry humor and absurd worldbuilding. The aliens are loud, demanding, and inconsistently helpful, creating a stressful but funny dynamic. The art style mixes retro sci-fi with slapstick energy, and the story hints at corporate neglect through sparse dialogue. With no combat or combat-like systems, the focus stays on problem-solving and weird character interactions. Early access feedback suggests it’s a solid 15-20 hour sim with some rough edges in later levels.
You’re a new hire at the Rebots Corporation. You’ve been sent to a new exciting frontier known by the locals simply as “The Asteroid Field”. But due to cost cutting your star cruiser had a rough landing and crashed into the local Spaceport. The inhabitants are a bit peeved at you, but it’s hard to tell how much is genuine frustration and what’s them trying to wring glibs out of you. Either way, you’re here now and it’s time to start your new job! Sybastian is the only other Reboteer in the area and serves as your mentor. He cares for the Spaceport and his job and hopes you’ll do a good job (even though the Corporation forgot about his existence). That’s the extent of your relationship. Previous hires? He doesn’t talk about that. The spacebus the player uses belongs to Sybastian. He loaned it to you since the star cruiser got busted. It's only suitable for local travel.
