You work for a group that handles spirits stuck between worlds. In Remnant Records, you comb through haunted locations to piece together the lives of the dead using scattered documents, odd objects, and environmental hints. Each site requires you to gather enough personal connections to a ghost before attempting an exorcism. That part’s less about flashy rituals and more about surviving a chaotic final confrontation where the spirit fights to stay. The game supports solo play or up to four players sharing the workload, though no one’s arguing about who grabs the flashlights or checks the attic first. The investigative loop feels tight and methodical, with clues often hiding in plain sight. Early feedback from PC players praises the game’s balance between puzzle-solving and tense survival moments during exorcisms. While the art style leans minimalist, it makes the sudden jumpscares land harder. Since launch on January 23, 2024, the co-op mode has drawn attention for how it forces communication, someone always ends up holding their breath while others search for that one missing item.
To exorcise a spirit, you first have to understand it. Search the place and find the clues left behind: diaries, newspaper cuts, unusual objects. Understand the person they was before their death, and gather as many items that are closely related to them as you can. Once you're ready, all you've got left to do is start the exorcism, pray you've understood everything correctly... and survive until the ghost is freed from this world.
