Remnants of Skystone is a 2D side-scrolling adventure game set in a steampunk wasteland split between a crumbling earth and a skybound refuge. Play as one of three classes, Aeronaut, Crag, or Ferric, each with distinct skills to navigate environments and fight enemies. Single-player focuses on missions and quests to clear toxic zones and defeat Mimic creatures. The multiplayer mode called Trailblazing lets groups tackle challenges together. The game’s setting sticks out: a shattered world where a floating city watches over a poisoned ground. Factions work to reclaim land from monstrous Mimics, blending exploration and combat. Though lesser known, it showcases Flipline Studios’ knack for quirky design before they shifted focus. The mix of solo and co-op play offers variety without overcomplicating the core platforming action.

Storyline

Long ago the mysterious Skystone loomed over the land of Etherea, where it became central in the development of three surrounding societies. That was until the Skystone shattered, spreading noxious Haze across the land and leaving foul Mimic creatures in its wake. The survivors took refuge in a floating city in the sky while the land below was consumed, and remained there for 200 years. Today, the three factions united to return to the Ground, exterminate the Mimics, and reclaim the land.
