Renaissance Kingdom Wars mixes real-time strategy with grand-scale empire building. You start as a nameless mercenary captain in 1510, scavenging for influence in a world of hundreds of rival lords. Recruit troops, raid settlements, and seize control of villages to climb the social ladder. Manage resources, trade routes, and alliances while balancing military campaigns. As your power grows, transition from managing a small camp to governing entire kingdoms. The game spans Europe, Africa, and the Middle East with over 500 claimable locations. The blend of micro and macro strategy stands out, letting you switch between battlefield tactics and world map governance. With co-op and multiplayer modes, you can ally or betray others in shared worlds. No pre-written story forces every playthrough to feel earned through conquest or diplomacy. While still early, its deep systems and scale already hint at a niche hit for strategy fans. PC only, out November 2024.
The year is 1510, the height of the Renaissance. You start the game as a simple mercenary captain in service to one of the hundreds of lords spread between dozens of Kingdoms across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. As you build your camp of followers and recruit new mercenaries you will eventually capture and claim one of over 500 cities or hamlets populating the game world. From there on you will take care of your economy, diplomatic relations, build up your city in real time or on the world map, aiming to expand your station and holdings in the game world – as a minor Lord. Eventually you will be ready to rebel against your monarch, and if successful be crowned King – which leads to the late game content – with focus switching from managing a town, to running a Kingdom, and eventually an Empire!
