Resident Evil: Dead Aim is a third-person shooter with a first-person aiming twist. You navigate a virus-ridden ocean liner as a government agent, balancing cover-based movement with precise gunplay. Weapon upgrades include a magnum and assault rifle, but ammo is limited and enemies require multiple hits to fell. The camera switches between over-the-shoulder exploration and a tight, light-gun compatible first-person view when firing. Environmental puzzles and scarce healing items heighten tension. The dual-perspective design stands out, blending methodical traversal with sudden bursts of intense shooting. While not as widely discussed as other entries in the series, it retains the franchise's signature resource management and relentless zombie hordes. Released in 2003 for PlayStation 2, it remains a niche but challenging entry for fans of tactical survival shooters.
The game starts on board the Umbrella-owned ocean liner Spencer Rain, which has been contaminated by the T-Virus stolen from Umbrella's Paris labs by bioterrorist and former employee Morpheus D. Duvall. A US government agent named Bruce McGivern is sent to stop Morpheus from spreading the zombie T-virus any further.
