Return Fire lets you pilot one of four combat vehicles in fast paced arcade battles. Choose from a nimble jeep, a hovering helicopter, a heavy tank, or the ASV with missile capabilities. The main goal is to steal the enemy flag and return it to your base while fending off attacks. Alternatively you can focus on destroying all opposing units to secure victory. Single player matches or split screen duels let you test tactics against AI or human opponents. The game’s split screen mode and direct combat stood out for competitive play in the 90s. With options for strategic flag captures or aggressive all out warfare it offered varied playstyles. Originally released in 1995 it ran on PC PlayStation and 3DO systems. While not a major commercial hit its straightforward multiplayer design earned a niche following among retro arcade fans.
