Richard Scarry's Busytown lets players explore a vibrant world inspired by the author's classic children's books. The Sega Mega Drive version offers six distinct stages each with its own challenges and objectives. You take control of Lowly Worm riding his iconic Apple Helicopter to navigate a top-down map choosing where to play. The gameplay shifts between puzzle solving platforming and driving across different locations filled with familiar faces from Scarry's stories. The DOS version exists too but this console port adds quickstage selection from the main menu. What makes this title pop is the sheer variety of activities and the colorful cast. Each level remixes Busytown's charm with different mechanics keeping things fresh even for longtime fans. Novotrade's development and Sega's 1993 publishing brought Scarry's universe to life with a blend of kid-friendly humor and replay value. Though not the most technically advanced game from the era the stage variety and recognizable characters helped it earn a cult following among retro gamers.
