About

Road to India: Between Hell and Nirvana is a point-and-click adventure set in 2001 that drops you into the shoes of Fred Reynolds, an American student racing against time to rescue his kidnapped fiancée in India. With just three days to act, you explore real-world landmarks like New Delhi and the Taj Mahal, splitting each day between tense "reality" segments and surreal "dream" sequences. The game mixes investigation, puzzle-solving, and fast-paced action as you navigate a plot involving a Kali-worshipping cult planning political chaos. The dual-narrative structure stands out, blending environmental storytelling with timed decisions that impact outcomes. While the PC release hasn’t aged perfectly, fans of classic adventure games appreciate its brisk pacing and atmospheric setting. Its cult antagonist and cross-cultural conflict add intrigue, though technical limitations from 2001 show. A straightforward title for players who enjoy tight stories over modern polish.

Storyline

When Fred Reynolds left his fiancée at the airport, he thought that she would be visiting her relatives in New Delhi for a few weeks. He never expected her to be kidnapped by Thugs: Kali worshippers bent on human sacrifices and overthrow of the Indian government. He must now make his way in a foreign land to find her and stop the evil cult before it is too late.
