RockFall tasks players with guiding a miner through claustrophobic tunnels, dodging falling rocks and collecting diamonds before the ceiling collapses. The action is fast and unforgiving, requiring quick reflexes and split-second decisions. Each level tightens the balance between speed and caution as new obstacles block escape routes. This 1995 homebrew title gained a second life in 2013 with a physical release from Piko Interactive. Though it follows familiar Boulder Dash mechanics, RockFall carves its own niche with sharper level design and a consistent difficulty arc. Retro SNES controls and pixel art keep it rooted in the era it emulates. Shorter sessions work best here, every misstep resets progress, but mastering the flow feels earned.
