Rolling Thunder 2 is a side-scrolling shooter where you play as Albert Ross or Leila, blasting through waves of enemies in a world where communication systems have gone dark. The action unfolds in tight, fast-paced levels filled with enemies and hazards. You start with a basic weapon but can grab upgraded guns and explosives along the way. The game supports two players teaming up locally, adding to the chaos. If you run out of lives, a password system lets you restart from your last checkpoint instead of starting over. The password feature and co-op mode stand out as practical touches for a 1991 release. It balances straightforward shooting with enough variety in weapons and level design to keep things engaging. While not a household name, it holds up as a no-frills arcade shooter with replay value. The Mega Drive version remains the most polished, but the Wii port brings it to modern screens. A relic of the early '90s that still works as a quick, competitive challenge.
