"I’ve been hard on Rule No. 1 because it really is a good idea. The addition of a radar display for situational awareness, a better sense of impact for the weapons, an in-game score display and a large piece of duct tape to put over the mouth of the main character would make it an infinitely better game. As it stands, this is just a mediocre shooter that largely misses the point of the things it’s trying to pay homage to."

You’re a lone shooter in a high-octane arena blasting through waves of robotic enemies. The action is fast and punishing with tight gunplay that prioritizes responsive controls and punchy feedback. Each wave mixes geometric enemies and grotesque creatures that swarm your position demanding quick reflexes and smart movement. The goal is simple: survive as long as possible while climbing the leaderboard with your score. The game’s visual style leans into surreal aesthetics with neon-lit environments and abstract enemy designs that clash with their mechanical behavior. It released in late 2020 and remains a niche favorite for players who crave pure action without complex systems. Available on multiple platforms including Switch and PS5 it offers a compact but addictive challenge perfect for short sessions.
