About

Run Run Kyousoukyoku is a side-scrolling foot race game with split-screen action. Play solo against computer rivals or team up for two-player matches. The single-player mode follows a fixed path from Japan to global locations, while co-op lets you pick any course. Racing involves platforming challenges alongside open tracks. Timing jumps by holding buttons determines height and distance. Some areas risk falling damage. The story centers on a laid-back man from a struggling village who starts a worldwide running event to boost his hometown's tech. Though the plot is simple, the mix of racing and light visual novel elements adds character. Developed in 1989 by ELF Corporation, it ran on older PC systems like the PC-9800 and PC-8800. A small but active retro racing community occasionally mentions its quirky stage design and competitive multiplayer, which offers more flexibility than the linear solo campaign.

Storyline

The female inhabitants of a poor village in Japan want to improve the technological level of their homeland. A lazy but patriotic young man who grew up in the same village agrees to organize a world-wide running competition that will hopefully bring glory to the village.
