Rusty is a side-scrolling action-platformer where you play as a vampire huntress battling through ten stages of monsters and traps. Using a whip as your main weapon you navigate dark castles forests and crypts fighting skeletons hordes and tough bosses. The game mixes platforming challenges with timed combat requiring precise jumps and quick reflexes. Each stage ends with a unique boss that tests your skills and weapon upgrades. The game’s gothic setting and straightforward yet punishing difficulty stand out. Set in a cursed Transylvania you follow a classic hero’s journey to rescue kidnapped girls and stop an ancient evil. While not widely remembered today it has a cult following among retro action fans. The whip combat feels distinct and the hand-drawn sprite work gives it a dated but charming look. A throwback to 90s action games that prioritizes challenge over polish.

Storyline

Hundreds of years ago, the ruler of Transylvania, a man by the name of Monte Carlo, was sealed away by the soul of a lone sacrifice. However, that seal has, over the centuries, begun to weaken, and recently a great number of monsters have started to appear around the land. Young girls have started disappearing from the villages in the area, but there are whispers of one from afar who may be able to bring them safely back. A young girl named Rusty appears in one of the villages, seeking the source of the monsters. Two young children, whose sister was taken by the monsters, ask Rusty to save her, and she heads straight on, whip in hand.
