Saboteur casts you as Hotot a robot fighting to stop alien invaders from launching a planet-destroying rocket. Navigate multi-level environments while shooting enemies and avoiding obstacles in this 1983 Atari 2600 shooter. The game uses a unique control scheme pairing a standard joystick with a light gun for targeting. Progress through stages by disarming explosives and clearing alien strongholds before time runs out. Despite being shelved at release due to technical hurdles the game gained retro cult status for its ambitious design. Developed by Howard Scott Warshaw it features layered gameplay uncommon for the 2600’s hardware. Community archives highlight its clever use of the platform’s limitations to create tense action sequences. Released digitally in 2005 it remains a curiosity for collectors and fans of early shooter experiments.
