About

Sailor Moon is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you play as one of five Sailor Soldiers battling through five stages filled with enemies from the Dark Kingdom. Each level shifts locations from city streets to alien landscapes, letting you punch, kick, and magic-shoot your way to victory. The game supports single player or co-op, letting friends team up to take down henchmen and mini-bosses before facing Queen Beryl in a final showdown. Combat feels straightforward but responsive, with light melee and special moves tied to each character’s anime abilities. The game’s biggest draw is its co-op mode, which was rare in 90s arcade-style brawlers. It captures the early anime’s tone with recognizable foes and references to the Dark Kingdom arc. Despite being ported across multiple systems, it keeps the core loop tight, no fluff, just action. The SNES and Mega Drive versions share similar visuals but tweak control schemes slightly, while the French localization kept the character names in Japanese. A simple, energetic pick-up-and-play title that holds up for fans of classic brawlers.

Storyline

Loosely based on the first Dark Kingdom arc of the Anime. Players take control either of the five original Sailor Soldiers across five stages, each one set in a different location, and fight against an assortment of enemies and villains from the series in order to defeat Queen Beryl and the Dark Kingdom.

Game Modes

Single player, Multiplayer, Co-operative
