Saints Row: Undercover started as a direct port of Saints Row 2 for the PlayStation Portable before turning into its own standalone project. Players would have controlled a Saint through a mix of third-person shooting, racing, and adventure missions on the handheld console. The story follows the usual gang drama but with gameplay designed specifically for the PSP hardware. This cancelled title was actually quite far along in production when Volition decided to pull the plug in 2009. Fans discovered this lost gem years later when development kits surfaced at the developer's office in 2016. The footage that leaked showed a polished action experience that never made it to stores. It remains a curiosity for collectors who want to see what Volition built before dropping the project. There are no ratings or community scores since nobody got to play the full version, but the concept of a portable Saints Row still holds interest for those tracking the series history.
