About

Sanguozhi Chibi zhi Zhan is a side-scrolling brawler with punchy combat and straightforward mechanics. You play as Liu Bei leading a squad of six heroes through waves of enemies in a bid to stop the tyrant Cao Cao. Each character has distinct moves and attack styles, letting you chain combos and switch between fighters mid-fight. The levels are tight and challenging, mixing platforming sections with straight-up brawling. While the visuals are simple by modern standards, the game’s pacing keeps things brisk and reactive. The title draws from classic Chinese history and folklore, reimagining the Three Kingdoms era as a brutal arcade beatdown. Though unlicensed, it clearly channels the DNA of early 90s brawlers with its focus on relentless action and team-based play. Players who grew up on retro Famicom titles might recognize the influence of Capcom’s Warriors of Fate but find Chibi zhan’s own flair in its character designs and stage layouts. With no online presence or updated ports, it remains a cult relic of niche gaming history.
