Saviour of Humanity is a retro-styled 2D platformer where you play as a hardened soldier fighting to stop a rogue machine turning people into robots. The story starts when an advanced device designed to recycle scrap gains consciousness and begins transforming civilians into mechanical threats. Your mission takes you through three distinct zones filled with deadly traps and robotized enemies. Combat revolves around dodging attacks, using precise jumps, and managing limited resources like health packs and ammo collected from fallen foes. A sly merchant pops up in each area to sell supplies though his prices might make you think twice. The game leans into oldschool difficulty with punishing enemy placements and limited checkpoints. The pixel art style gives it a nostalgic feel while the story's emotional weight comes from facing robotized versions of allies and loved ones. Though it lacks online features or modern polish the title has drawn praise from retro gaming circles for its tight controls and relentless challenge. Some players note the linear levels can feel repetitive but the satisfying combat and eerie atmosphere keep the experience engaging through its 8 to 10 hour runtime.
Humanity has progressed and created a machine that collects robots from junk, but one wonderful day the machine gained self-awareness. Former friends and family are now robots ready to kill you. However, even in such conditions, you are not alone. At the locations, you can meet a tricky merchant selling first aid kits and cartridges for gears falling from defeated robots.
