"Overall Scholar’s Mate provides a very different take on an escape room game. With a tense atmosphere and plenty of puzzles to keep your brain busy. However, I will say the game is quite short and offers not much else apart from this. The audio is where the game shines and is a positive to take away from the experience. I hope the developers use this well in their upcoming games! If you are looking for a quick experience and to spend a small amount of money to keep yourself entertained then Scholar’s Mate will reach that expectation!"

You’re the problem-solver Lucky Seven Sampson needs to assemble a band in this quirky point-and-click adventure. Each character in Funky Numberland has a math puzzle blocking their path to joining the group. Click around scenes to find clues and solve arithmetic challenges, with answers often tied to musical themes. The gameplay feels like a classroom escape room, blending basic math with slapstick animations and catchy tunes. The game’s charm comes from its retro edutainment vibe and playful take on number-based storytelling. Characters like Fraction Jackson and Digit Dingel each have distinct personalities and obstacles, making the math feel less like drills and more like a carnival ride. While the puzzles are simple by today’s standards, the mix of music and math remains surprisingly engaging. Released in 1996, it’s a relic of a time when educational games leaned into creativity over repetition.
