Scooby-Doo Mystery is a point-and-click adventure game where you navigate four self-contained stories to figure out spooky plots. Each episode drops the gang in a new location like a haunted ranch or pirate-infested town. Players collect clues by exploring environments and using Scooby’s nose to sniff out hidden items. Fright levels drop when you feed the dog his favorite snacks between scenes. Mini-games like whacking monsters or assembling sandwiches break up the investigative work. The game sticks close to the cartoon’s visual style with brightly colored sprites and familiar character designs. While the 1995 release shows its age in some animations, the episodic structure gives each mystery a distinct vibe. Classic fans appreciate the direct tie-ins to the show’s vibe without requiring prior TV knowledge. The SNES version adds two exclusive episodes not found on other systems at the time.
