Scramble is a fast-paced shooter where you pilot a jet across six vertical scrolling levels packed with hazards. You fire weapons and drop bombs to clear fuel tanks and enemies while dodging terrain and avoiding crashes. Each level has distinct obstacles and layouts, with no breaks between sections. Survive as long as possible to rack up points from time alive and targets destroyed. The final level ends with a base attack, then the whole loop ramps up in difficulty. Released in 1981, this Konami classic ran on arcade cabinets and later saw ports to Xbox 360 and Vectrex. Its tight controls and escalating tension kept players hooked for decades. With simple mechanics and punishing precision, it holds a 4/5 on Arcade Museum archives. Still a cult favorite for its relentless challenge.
