"Between the unique twin-stick handling, the risk-reward chaos of the Echo System, and a story that leans hard into its over-the-top anime inspirations, it manages to carve out an identity that feels both fresh and nostalgic. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t need to be because when everything clicks during racing, Screamer is an absolute thrill to play. For anyone craving an arcade racer with personality and depth with a riveting storyline, this is one worth taking for a spin at full throttle."

You play as a Screwjumper in a lawless alien mining world. The goal is simple: crash into structures at breakneck speed while hurling dynamite at targets. As you fall faster, your impact power grows letting you smash through tougher obstacles. Multiplayer matches pit players against each other or team-based objectives while single player offers standalone runs. Split screen lets two players share a couch for chaotic co-op or rivalry. The game leans into its ridiculous premise with over-the-top explosions and physics-based destruction. Multiplayer lobbies often get chaotic as players collide mid-air or sabotage teammates for fun. Split screen remains a highlight for local play despite the 2007 release. While not a technical showcase it delivers pure arcade energy that works best with friends.
