You take control of a helicopter or tank across 14 multi-phase missions spanning deserts, jungles, and snowy terrain. Each mission starts with a briefing and a shop where you spend medals to upgrade weapons, adjust ammo loads, and tweak vehicle stats. Objectives mix combat, rescues, and resource collection, with a scanner and map to navigate. The vertical scrolling setup contrasts with free movement, creating a pseudo-3D feel as terrain shifts under your vehicle. The depth of pre-phase planning sets this apart, overlook fuel reserves or armor and you’ll crash in the middle of nowhere. While the 1993 release date shows in the visuals, the layered strategy and punishing difficulty keep it fresh for arcade shooter fans. With no multiplayer to distract, it leans fully into its tense, methodical gameplay loop.
Your mission - take control of the Apache helicopter and fly into enemy territory. Take out the designated targets and return to home base. Your missions will be varied. Some may involve rescue attempts. They should all be completed with surgical precision. There is no margin for error and the slightest hesitation will prove fatal. I don't need to remind you that each mission briefing is highly classified and top secret. Now get to it!
