Sega VR-1 is a 1994 arcade shooter that lets players battle enemies through a first-person perspective using a motion simulator and headset. The headset tracks your head movements so looking left or right adjusts your aim. Each seat moves in sync with in-game action adding physical momentum to every turn and explosion. This game was the first to use head-tracking VR in a video game. Released in SegaWorld arcades it offered an early taste of virtual reality before home systems caught up. Though short-lived the experience felt cutting edge for its time mixing responsive controls with mechanical motion. Players remember the visceral thrill of being inside a digital battlefield long before modern VR headsets existed.
