Sengoku 2 is a side scrolling brawler that swaps samurai epics for supernatural chaos. You control a warrior yanked from the future to feudal Japan where a tyrant boss bends the dead to his will. Fight through scrolling levels packed with shambling enemies using fists, weapons, and special moves. Team up locally in co op or challenge friends in versus mode. The controls feel tight for quick combos while the stages mix traditional castle layouts with spooky haunted forests. The game stands out for its punchy action and replayability. Community favorites praise the balance between single player campaigns and competitive multiplayer. Though a sequel to 1991’s Sengoku it improves on the formula with smoother mechanics and expanded character options. Its 90s arcade roots show in the aggressive difficulty but the co op remains a highlight for couch co op fans. Over 30 years later it still ranks among the more aggressive entries in SNK’s brawler lineup.

Storyline

The story given by SNK is as follows: "A time of Sengoku, it's the weak becoming the victims of the strong. It began when a monarch got evil powers. He awakened peacefully sleeping souls and used his power to control them. But there was hope for those who has everything taken away by the monarch. A princess looked into the future and predicted an evil monarch would be born and she knew a strong soldier would appear in the future. The princess called to the soldier with her whole spirit..!!"
