About

Shadow Dancer is a side-scrolling action game where you play a ninja and his loyal dog. The goal is to dismantle bombs and fight through waves of enemies across four missions. Combat is fast and direct, with acrobatic moves and the ability to call on your canine partner to attack or distract foes. Originally released in 1989, it followed the Shinobi series but offered its own straightforward gameplay. Available on arcade machines and home systems like PC, Amiga, and ZX Spectrum. The dog companion stands out as a helpful tool in tough situations. While not as complex as later entries in the series, it’s praised for tight controls and replay value. With ports across multiple 80s and 90s platforms, it shows the game’s reach. Community ratings highlight its addictive combat and the satisfaction of completing each level. Still a go-to title for fans of classic beat ’em ups.
