"At the end of the day, I have to say I had a great time with Shadowverse: Champion’s Battle. The characters and story are great, and the game is very easy to pick up and play. The online modes will let you battle with your friends online and this adds a ton of replay value to the game as well. I think some of the later boss battles are completely unfair and will frustrate some players. You just have to stick with it and change your deck up accordingly until you take them down. I put right around 35 hours in this one and there is still some post game stuff I could take on. If you’re a fan of the Shadowverse anime, this one is well worth your coin at the $49.99 price tag. Fans looking for a good collectible card game to pass their time with on the Switch would do well to snag this one up as well."

You’re a new student at Tensei Academy when Hiro, a die-hard Shadowverse enthusiast, pulls you into his orbit. The school’s Shadow Club is on life support, and you’re thrust into a mission to resurrect it. Explore large campus zones, tackle side quests with classmates, and compete in high-stakes card tournaments to restore the club’s glory. Gameplay blends turn-based strategy with deck-building mechanics, requiring tactical card combos and resource management to outwit opponents. The mix of school-sim elements and competitive card battles sets this apart. While the story leans into slice-of-life tropes, the strategic depth of matches keeps things engaging. A vocal fanbase has kept the game alive since its 2016 mobile debut, and the Switch port brings portability to the mix. Regular tournament updates ensure replayability, though the grind for progression may test patience.
Storyline
On his first day at Tensei Academy, the transfer student protagonist meets Hiiro Ryuugasaki and learns about Shadowverse and the school’s Shadow Club. The protagonist decides to join the Shadow Club to play Shadowverse. However, the Shadow Club has ceased activity and is on the verge of being shutdown! Determined not to give up, Hiiro and the protagonist decide to try to revive the Shadow Club. As a result, the protagonist gets wrapped up in various events… “Your battle evolves”—now!
