Shakugan no Shana DS is a role-playing game based on the popular anime and manga series. It ports the PlayStation 2 original to the Nintendo DS with updated mechanics and presentation. The story follows Shana and her companion as they confront threats in a city where magic and violence collide. The DS version retains the core narrative but streamlines menus for touch controls. The game adds a character gallery showcasing outfit changes for Shana and her partner, a feature unique to this release. A new battle mode lets players test alternate characters against AI opponents, offering extra replay value. Developed by VRIDGE and published by MediaWorks, it released in March 2007. While visuals and combat remain faithful to the source material, the DS port feels slightly dated compared to later entries in the series.
