About

Sheepo is a metroidvania platformer with a twist. You play a shape-shifting sheep tasked with saving a planet’s species by collecting unhatched eggs. Each egg is guarded by a boss queen, and defeating them unlocks new forms. Transform into creatures to access new areas, dig through dirt, fly over chasms, or teleport between points. The game emphasizes exploration over combat, with no standard fights. Instead, puzzles and platforming challenges force you to adapt using your growing list of creature abilities. The world is a large mix of biomes linked by environmental hazards and hidden shortcuts. What sets Sheepo apart is its charm and structure. The lack of combat makes it feel less aggressive, focusing on curiosity and problem-solving. The interconnected maps reward backtracking, with each new form opening previously inaccessible zones. While the story is light, the eccentric creature designs and whimsical tone keep things engaging. Though not data-heavy, early feedback highlights the smooth traversal mechanics and the satisfaction of unlocking new abilities. A shorter metroidvania with a playful edge.

Storyline

It’s Sheepo’s first day on the job at an intergalactic species database. His first task? To visit an uncharted planet and save all its living creatures from extinction! It might seem like a lot of work for a single day, but thankfully a day on Planet Cebron lasts 8000 earth days. Specifically, Sheepo is tasked to collect one unhatched egg from every creature on the planet. With each egg Sheepo collects, you gain the ability to shape-shift into that creature on contact and explore the deeper reaches of the planets sprawling environment.
