It’s a straightforward bullet-hell shooter where you pick up different guns to blast through waves of oncoming blocks. Each weapon has its own firing pattern and reload time so you have to switch around to keep your head above water. The levels get tighter and faster as you go but there's no story or fancy upgrades just you the gunplay and the blocks coming at you. Shooting Blocks has an 82 on Metacritic and 4.3 on Steam from people who like its no-frills approach. It’s simple enough to pick up but the timing challenges stick around. The Switch version lets you play it while waiting in line or during a break. It doesn’t do anything fancy but the core loop of surviving another wave hits reliably.
