Shooting Gallery is a pack of 32 quickfire target-shooting mini games. You control a cursor with an analog joystick to blast moving objects that dart across the screen. Each challenge features objects in different motions like running, flying or swimming. The 1979 title works on Philips' VC 4000 and 1292 APVS systems. One or two players can take turns trying to land the most hits. The game stands out for its variety within a simple format. Three decades before "multiplayer" meant online play, it offered shared-screen competitive shooting. Its straightforward design focused purely on reflexes and timing. While early arcade ports set the standard for competitive high scores, this home version gave players a consistent way to test their aim on a living room console.
