Skader is a fast-paced VR combat game where players glide across arenas on high-speed skating devices. Team up or battle solo against opponents using trail generators to trap enemies and power-ups to shift momentum. Each character has a signature ability tied to their universe’s traits, adding layers of strategy to matches. The goal is simple: eliminate rival teams then face off in a final one-on-one duel to claim the ancient rune and save your world. Matches blend quick reflexes with tactical play, whether you’re setting traps or dodging them mid-skate. The game’s standout is its unique movement system, turning skating into a core mechanic that feels smooth and responsive in VR. Launched in April 2023, Skader runs on SteamVR, Meta Quest, and Windows Mixed Reality, offering both co-op and competitive modes. While still finding its audience, early players praise the creative use of ice-based combat and the tension of head-to-head finals. The sci-fi setup adds stakes without slowing the action, making each match feel like a cosmic showdown.

Storyline

Our Multiverse is collapsing, triggered by a catastrophic spacetime event. Many universes are already gone and just a handful left. Those who survived live in a constant universe incursion state and are about to collapse as well. There is an ancient rune that can protect a single universe from collapsing and the multiverse sentinels, a pure energy intelligence without body, decide to conduct a final contest the winner will take the rune home to save their universe. The sentinels pick the best warrior from each universe and invite them to the contest. You represent one of these warriors, provided with a high-end skating device, a helmet, and a trail generator to compete. Each universe gives you unique skills (one) which distinguish you from the rest and gives advantage. The battle arena contains highly sophisticated features and power-ups. You can team up with other warriors to eliminate the rest but eventually, you will need to fight for the rune in the final 1x1 battle to decide your universe destiny.
