Skidmarks is a top-down racing game with a focus on chaotic multiplayer action. You pick from four vehicles including a rally car, a tall muscle car, a monster truck, and a buggy then battle across 12 tracks split into two groups. Each track spans multiple screens creating winding paths that emphasize speed and drift. The game supports local two-player splitscreen or a four-player setup using a serial cable. Players can send taunting messages mid-race adding a layer of trash talk to the competition. The number of car types in each race depends on available system memory letting setups scale from single to four-car heats. The standout feature is its ahead-of-its-time multiplayer flexibility. For 1993 the four-player modem support was rare and the taunt messages created a social layer few games had. With simple controls and fast-paced races it rewards quick reflexes over deep strategy. Players on the Amiga with extra RAM get the most varied experience but even minimal setups offer solid fun. The track variety and vehicle handling differences keep each race feeling distinct despite the 2D presentation.
