Smuta is a third-person action RPG set in 1612 during a chaotic era of Russian history. Developed by Cyberia Nova, it follows a narrative inspired by a 19th-century novel but rewritten to prioritize dynamic storytelling and player agency. The game emphasizes role-playing choices and historical immersion through single-player exploration, combat, and dialogue-driven interactions. The game leans into its source material's dramatic conflicts while adding cinematic flair and interactive depth. Though not based on a modern IP, its reimagined take on the Time of Troubles offers a niche historical setting rarely seen in games. Storyline

The game takes place in 1612, during the Time of Troubles. The plot is based on the novel by Mikhail Zagoskin “Yuri Miloslavsky, or the Russians in 1612” . However, as the developers note, “the game script will be more dynamic than the literary source”.
