Soak ‘Em Out tasks you with keeping Tina, a cat stranded at a bus stop, dry during a worsening storm. The bus never arrives so you’ll instead tilt her umbrella left or right to dodge falling raindrops. Each drop that hits her adds to the countdown until she’s completely soaked. The longer you last the higher your score but the storm intensifies over time with faster rain and new obstacles. It’s a simple loop of reflex and timing that grows increasingly frantic. The game’s charm comes from its tiny but tense gameplay loop and retro pixel art. While the storm mechanics follow familiar score attack patterns the cat’s expressive animations and the quiet desperation of waiting for a bus add character. Played on PC or browser it’s an easy pick up and play challenge with leaderboards to chase. A low stakes high pressure experience that keeps you swiping just one more round.

Storyline

Soak ‘Em Out is an endless score attack game that takes heavy influence from the Game & Watch Gallery series. You play as Tina, a cat trying to catch a bus that unfortunately is taking an unusually long time to arrive. To make matters worse, a big storm is brewing! With no true shelter nearby and only an umbrella to take cover with, how long are you able to delay the inevitable before getting soaked out?
